Good News: CYG High Voltage Wins Second Prize in 2025 Mechanical Industry Science & Technology Progress Award

Recently, the China Machinery Industry Federation and the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society jointly announced the winners of the 2025 "Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award." CYG High Voltage Electric Co., Ltd. (abbr. CYG High Voltage), a subsidiary of CYG Technology Group, stood out from over 540 national entries. The company was awarded the Second Prize in the Science and Technology Progress category for its project titled "Failure Mechanisms and Key Prevention Technologies for Electrical Equipment in Coastal Hot-Humid Environments and Their Applications"(Certificate No. D2502160-06).
Following previous wins in 2018, 2020, and 2022, CYG High Voltage secured the Mechanical Industry Science & Technology Award for the fourth time, competing alongside China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), leading research institutions, and top-tier universities. This achievement marks the company's continued footprint of solid innovation on this authoritative platform.
01 What Makes This Award So Elite?
The "Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award," sanctioned by the Ministry of Science and Technology and hosted by the China Machinery Industry Federation, serves as a key bellwether for industrial innovation. With fewer than 6% of entries succeeding nationwide in 2025—only 232 projects claimed the Second Prize—the award’s selectivity underscores its immense gold content.

02 What Are the Project’s Strengths?
To put it simply: Enabling power grids to resist corrosion in coastal areas.
Coastal regions present a "triple threat"—high salt fog, high humidity, and intense UV radiation—posing severe challenges to the longevity of electrical equipment.
Over six years of dedicated research, Changyuan High Voltage collaborated with six other entities, including Guangdong Power Grid, China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), and Tsinghua University. The consortium focused on overcoming three core technical obstacles:
✅ Clarifying Failure Mechanisms: The team established a multi-factor coupling model integrating heat, humidity, salt fog, and UV radiation to achieve predictive early warning of defects.
✅ Enhancing Material Properties: By developing new nano-coatings and modified silicone rubber, the project dramatically improved the equipment's resistance to aging.
✅ Streamlining On-site Inspection: A handheld rapid testing device was introduced, enabling comprehensive evaluation in just 3 minutes—making the process both lightweight and economical.
These achievements have been deployed across more than 20 national key projects—such as the Fujian-Guangdong Interconnection, the Hainan Free Trade Port, and the Three Gorges Offshore Wind Farm—allowing coastal power grids to bid farewell to "corrosion anxiety."
